Arnold Johannes Wilhelm Sommerfeld (German:[ˈaʁnɔltˈzɔmɐˌfɛlt]; 5 December – 26 April ) was a German theoretical physicist who pioneered developments in atomic and quantum physics, and also educated and mentored many students for the new era of theoretical physics.
