    Formation and Debut

    In 2005, Canadian guitarist and vocalist Ryan Guldemond founded Mother Mother, initially consisting of his sister Molly Guldemond and college friend Debra-Jean Creelman.

    The trio's distinctive vocal harmonies gained recognition, leading to supporting gigs with artists such as K'naan and The Cat Empire.

    Name Change and Label Deal

    In 2006, the band's self-titled debut album was released independently.

    However, to avoid legal issues, the band signed with Last Gang Records and changed their name to "Mother Mother." The album was re-released in 2007 as "Touch Up" with additional tracks.
