Blake Edwards was born on July 26, 1922, in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
His father, William Blake Crump, divorced his mother when he was young, and she remarried Hollywood producer Jack McEdward. McEdward, who was the director of the renowned Fox film studio, introduced young Blake to the world of filmmaking, and the studio backlot became his playground.
Edwards attended school in Beverly Hills and served in the Coast Guard
